While exploring beyond the fork, in the flatlands before Pepper Prairie, I found painted on a rock "keg mountain". It seems the mountain has a name. Following the trail beyond, it appears to connect with the same one I followed last spring. Pepper Prairie is just as lovely in winters white.

Following an inkling had one morning, I followed a trail that starts closer to Baptist Church Road, by the underground cable path. One fork dead-ended, as if abandoned. The left went past a small pond and then uphill. Another left fork brought me to the long flat path which connects Keg Mountain and Salt Hill. A new way to Pepper Prairie was found that day.
